We are looking for a proactive, highly organised and enthusiastic administrator to support the smooth running of our events and activities programme.
The Events Administrator plays a central role in ensuring SPACE’s inclusive events are well-coordinated, welcoming and professionally delivered. With a strong focus on organisation, communication and attention to detail, this role oversees the administration and logistics of our programme so that neurodivergent children, young people and families can access safe, supportive and well-run experiences.
This is a hands-on position requiring excellent organisational skills, confidence in managing multiple priorities and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with colleagues, families and partners.

About the role
⏳Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
📍 Location: Hybrid – Stanstead Abbotts 1-2 days per week plus remote
💰 Salary: £26,250 FTE (£14,000 for 20 hour week)
📅 Closing date: 15th March 2026 (however we may close this earlier)
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the administration of SPACE’s events and activities programme, ensuring all bookings, listings (including Eventbrite and other platforms), attendee records and communications are timely, accurate, up to date and GDPR compliant.
- Manage event communications, acting as the main administrative contact for families, delivery partners, venues, bank staff and volunteers, and issuing timely pre- and post-event information.
- Coordinate event logistics, including any venue bookings and staffing arrangements, registers and documentation, supporting the smooth and safe delivery of events and escalating issues appropriately where required.
- Work closely with the Short Break Local Offer (SBLO) Coordinator to ensure strong communication, effective processes and maximum uptake of eligible activities and opportunities for families.
- Maintain positive working relationships with partners and suppliers, and support the research and identification of potential new venues or activity providers.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure event information is accurate and provided in good time for promotion.
- Collect and collate attendance figures and feedback to support reporting, monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Provide administrative support for larger-scale events and wider organisational activities, representing SPACE in a professional and values-led manner at all times.
- Other ad-hoc duties as required by the charity.
Requirements and skills
Essential:
- Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- A flexible approach to working hours when necessary (some weekend working is likely to be required)
- Strong IT skills and confidence in learning new software packages and digital tools.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable:
- A good working knowledge of the SEND field and relevant services operating within Hertfordshire.
- Understanding of the needs of neurodivergent children and young people, and the importance of accessible, inclusive events.
- Experience of working with and supporting volunteers.
