As a small charity your ongoing support enables us to provide vital training, activities and support to local families when they need it the most.
Here is a simple guide to setting up AmazonSmile on both your browser and the Amazon App to start earning money for SPACE – it’s important to do both if you use both!
What is AmazonSmile?
When you shop using AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the cost of all eligible products to us as your chosen charity.
There are millions of eligible products available – look out for ‘Eligible for smile.amazon.co.uk’ on the product’s details page once you are signed up.
How do I sign up to AmazonSmile?
To sign up for AmazonSmile visit www.smile.amazon.co.uk.
If you’ve already got an Amazon account, simply log in to your account and search for SPACE Hertfordshire in the ‘pick your own charity’ search bar on the right-hand side of the screen. Click to accept us as your chosen charity and you’re ready to start shopping!
To make sure you are donating to SPACE when you shop, it is important to always shop through smile.amazon.co.uk when you are shopping through your browser. Purchases made at www.amazon.co.uk do not count!
You can make it easier to return to smile.amazon.co.uk by adding a shortcut to your phone’s home screen. If you’re using an Apple phone or tablet, follow the steps below:

If you use the app to shop you also need to set AmazonSmile up there:
- Open the Amazon app and click on Settings in the main menu
- Click on the Amazon Smile link
- Follow the on-screen instructions to turn AmazonSmile on in the mobile app
- Once AmazonSmile has been activated in your app, future eligible app purchases will generate a donation for SPACE

Are prices higher on AmazonSmile?
Absolutely not! Exactly the same products are available, at the same prices. It doesn’t cost you a penny more.
Can I use my existing Amazon account?
Yes! If you’ve already got an Amazon account, you can use the same account on smile.amazon.co.uk so you’ll be able to access your shopping cart, wish lists and more, just as you would do through amazon.co.uk.
Renewing AmazonSmile
Amazon asks that you renew your AmazonSmile donation settings every six months. This is easy but required. When six months are up Amazon will remind you… please do choose SPACE again!
