The fantastic four all stormed pass their individual fundraising targets. On Sunday, 7th April the London Landmarks Half Marathon took place. A 13.1 mile unique running route taking runners past stunning landscape of iconic landmarks as well as immersing them in London’s secret, quirky and hidden history!

Members of our SPACE community Karl, Heather, Natalie and Claire raised a great amount of money for families of neurodiverse children and young people living in Hertfordshire.

The SPACE Fundraising team has crowned the group “The Fab Four”, expressing they are “proud of their achievements and grateful for all the money they have raised”.

Parent/Carer, Natalie, enjoyed the support of the crowd during the event but there was one on-looker who stood out the most…

My ASD/ ADHD son, Tommy, saw me coming up to the finish and jumped from the crowd to run the last stretch with me (thank you ADHD impulsivity!) I couldn’t be prouder of him!

Claire said she was “so happy to run for SPACE, to give something back to the charity which offers well needed support to so many families with neurodiverse children”.

She added – “Early in 2023 I struggled to find resources and support networks that either existed, or had the capacity, to help us – until I stumbled upon SPACE. I’ve attended a number of SPACE workshops, and on every single session I have felt

that SPACE really understand the challenges, offer amazing knowledge, and are a service that is incredibly easy to access.”

Parent/Carer and runner Karl shared “it was great to be able to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon for SPACE. A windy, but lovely morning running past the main London landmarks. A great event and really pleased to have been able to raise some funds for such a wonderful charity.”

Over 17,000 runners took part this year and we are delighted to have had Karl, Heather, Natalie and Claire flying the flag for SPACE. General Manager Karen Spencer said: “The money raised will help SPACE to continue empowering families of neurodiverse children and young people and able us to deliver the best experience possible for them, thank you.”
