There were so many festive and seasonal highlights that we enjoyed together in December.
The month started with our young artists doing themselves proud in our last online painting session of the year. Just look at these amazing snowmen! Each one looks as full of character as the painters that created them.
What a wonderful keepsake to have pride of place on the wall every festive season.

Our SPACE Christmas at The Patch came to a close with a rousing festive sing-a-long for those who wanted to join in around the campfire.
All the usual outdoor play activities that our children and young people love were available alongside loads of festive treats.
We made clay candles, played with sensory frozen cranberry ice cakes, wrote cards and letters at the festive postbox, created beautiful tree decorations from rounds of wood, and wrote or draw our Christmas wishes and then listened to them crackle and burn to magic dust on our campfire. The Yurt was open with comfy seats and a roaring fire and there were plenty of edible treats too!

Our Hoddesdon Support Group enjoyed a morning of Christmas Crafting alongside the usual chat and support. They made some beautiful arty fairy light bottles that would have been sure to be the highlight of any table centrepiece over the festive period!

Our online Lego-fans were also feeling festive in their last session of the year… Snowflakes, Santas, reindeer, gingerbread houses, penguins and we particularly love that Chase from Paw Patrol came out to join in the building and creative fun with one family.

Our aerial acrobats swung, spun, stretched, hung, posed, relaxed and took some sensory time at our last aerial gymnastics session of the year. And we also had a brilliant online family Christmas quiz.

The ground may have been hard and frosty but that hasn’t stopped us working to get our. new allotment space ready.
We have been working hard to develop this area to create a growing, sensory, community space for our families ready for the spring. There is so much to do but among other things we’ve cleared the area, planted some spring bulbs and erected a shed. A big shout out to all the willing hands pitching in and the kind donations we’ve received.

Lending SPACE was as busy as ever throughout the month and we were also open during Twixtmas for families looking to borrow or drop off items or just looking for a chat and a play in a safe, welcoming environment.

Families were also able to enjoy a really special Twixtmas experience at The Snowsmith Christmas show at Ware Drill Hall. We were transported into the enchanting world of puppetry and atmospheric folk music. We were captivated as Eira discovered the joy of the most magical weather on her action packed adventure.
A big thank you to Hertford Theatre for providing such a welcoming relaxed environment at Ware Drill Hall for us to kick back, chill out and enjoy the show. Meeting some of the actors afterwards including the beautiful Kodi owl was an extra special magical moment, creating precious memories.

Finally, we launched our spring term training programme in December. We are running nearly 40 workshops from January – March 2023.
As always these are FREE for parents and carers to attend and your child or young person does not need to have a diagnosis.
The feedback from these is always amazing and as places are limited do sign up today to avoid disappointment! Some of the workshops are full already but many still have a few places available.
Find our more information and reserve your place before they are all snapped up.
So all in all another busy December! And we are already looking forward to everything we have planned in 2023. Wishing all our families health and happiness throughout the year.
SPACE activities are always very popular. To receive details of upcoming activities as soon as they are available to book, please join our community on Facebook and follow us on Eventbrite .
