Struggling with sleep can be challenging for families, especially when navigating additional needs. In this webinar, delivered by SPACE’s Lead Trainer Chris Russell, parents and carers will gain essential tools to address these challenges and promote better rest. With a focus on routines, environmental adjustments, and understanding the unique sleep needs associated with neurodiversity, our webinar will help you to create calmer, more predictable bedtimes. Watch the webinar now or read on to learn more about how this webinar can help your family sleep easier.

Produced in partnership with The Sleep Charity, you will gain practical insights and strategies to improve sleep routines and address sleep challenges. We cover the vital role of sleep, the effects of sleep deprivation on parents, children, and siblings, and the specific sleep-related challenges that SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) can introduce.

You will learn how to keep and interpret a sleep diary, enabling you to recognise patterns and adjust bedtime routines more effectively. We also share practical tools and strategies, such as creating a sleep-friendly bedroom, establishing consistent bedtime routines, and managing sensory sensitivities related to autism, ADHD and other neurodiverse conditions. The webinar also provides guidance on addressing common issues like bedtime anxiety, impulsivity, and bedtime resistance, along with tips for maintaining positive bedtime routines despite unexpected changes.

This webinar was produced for Hertfordshire County Council as part of the Local Offer. SPACE runs over 40 free online workshops and courses a term for parents and carers of neurodivergent children and young people in Hertfordshire. You can see what we have coming up and book your place here.
