What a joy to be back watching SPACE families enjoy some completely uninhibited outdoor play at our exclusive sessions at The Patch. The Patch is a very special place, set in beautiful countryside surroundings and everyone was made to feel so welcome by Liz who runs it. There is always so much for the children, young people and their families to explore including the sand pit, mud kitchens, car play, lego, playground and willow domes. Snacks to keep hungry tummies satisfied and the all important tea and coffee for the grownups were easily to hand too.

It was lovely to see the children so completely free and at ease to do their own thing – whether engrossed in a lego project, experimenting with some water play, digging in the sand, chasing each other through the willow tunnels and making friends on the swings, climbing frames, slides or wide open spaces.
Amazing stews and magical cakes were concocted by the chefs in the mud kitchen, and intrepid explorers caught and examined bugs from the pond.
To wrap up a morning of play and adventure the families came together to toast marshmallows around the camp fire.

As families left at the end of the two hour session there were lots of happy and grubby faces – surely the sign of a morning well spent!
“I’d just like to say thank you so much for organising this, we attended this event last Sunday and had the most amazing time and met some lovely people”
The Patch hosts exclusive sessions for SPACE families on the first Sunday of every month.
