Step up to a powerful and meaningful challenge with SPACE Hertfordshire by taking part in the Helping Herts Marathon Challenge. This fully supported 26-mile countryside event winds through some of Hertfordshire’s most beautiful villages, quiet lanes and open landscapes, offering an unforgettable experience for walkers, joggers and runners alike.

A route designed for everyone
Starting and finishing in Benington, this circular route gives you the freedom to take on the distance in a way that works for you. Whether you are aiming for a strong running time or planning a steady walking pace, participants are expected to complete the course in anything from 3 hours 30 minutes to 10 hours, making it accessible for a wide range of abilities.
The event has been carefully designed to support you every step of the way. With staggered start times for runners and walkers, regular drink stations, clearly marked checkpoints and a friendly event HQ at Benington Village Hall, you will feel guided, encouraged and looked after throughout the day.

Run, walk or jog
By joining Team SPACE Hertfordshire, you will be part of something much bigger. Every mile you cover will help raise vital funds to support neurodivergent children and young people, and their families, across the county. Your efforts will directly contribute to services that provide support, training, activities and safe spaces for families who need it most.
Even better, this challenge takes place during the Helping Herts match-funding week in July. This means that every pound you raise for SPACE Hertfordshire could be doubled, making your impact go even further for local families.
How to take part
Registration costs just £25, and we ask each participant to commit to raising a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. With match funding in place, that £100 could become £200, doubling the difference you make. For more information, please contact: fundraising@spaceherts.org.uk
